thyssenkrupp CEO Miguel López participates in the 35th Shanghai Mayor's International Business Leaders' Advisory Council (IBLAC)
In October, around 30 global executives from around the world gathered in Shanghai for the 35th Shanghai Mayor's International Business Leaders' Advisory Council (IBLAC), to share advice and suggestions for Shanghai's development. Miguel López, CEO of thyssenkrupp, attended the meeting.
Chen Jining, Secretary of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, and Gong Zheng, Mayor of Shanghai, welcomed the guests, introduced Shanghai's strategic focuses, and expressed that Shanghai will unswervingly deepen the high-level reform and opening-up, endorse international high-standard economic and trade rules, and welcome more international enterprises to invest and develop in Shanghai.
Based on its business operations in Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region, thyssenkrupp proposed on how to further enhance Shanghai's competitiveness and attractiveness, especially under the restructuring of the global value chain and supply chain. Miguel López delivered a speech in which he made advice on enhancing the confidence of MNCs, attracting talents with diverse expertise and backgrounds, and establishing Shanghai's green image with more green measures.
It is worth mentioning that after last year, thyssenkrupp’s IBLAC paper is again recognised by the IBLAC committee and selected as an outstanding paper.
Just a day before, Miguel López also had a one-on-one meeting with Gong Zheng, Mayor of Shanghai and exchanged on topics including thyssenkrupp’s businesses in Shanghai, green development driven by advanced technologies and measures to boost a better business environment.
During IBLAC Shanghai, Miguel López took interviews from Xinhua News Agency, STV and Wenhui Daily, sharing his views on the business environment in Shanghai, thyssenkrupp’s business development in China, and potential opportunities for green development.
