Meet three employees who are helping shape the future

Cui Feng is a metal treatment specialist at Shanghai Krupp Stainless (SKS). He
ensures that everything runs smoothly – from early morning to late evening. The
34-year-old engineer has a relaxed attitude. “We production people are the first to
arrive and the last to leave, that’s just the way it is.” He attaches more importance to
his work. “We’re producing high-tech here, our company is the first of its kind in
China,” he says proudly.

Wholehearted involvement from the very start

Cui studied at the renowned technology institute in the northern Chinese city of
Harbin. He still looks back on his time there fondly. Cui joined SKS five years ago.
As part of the founding team he was actively involved from the very start: “I saw helping build up the plant here as a challenge.”

Learning with and from one another

Cui has already attended three training courses at ThyssenKrupp in Germany. At first he was taken aback by the direct way German colleagues criticized mistakes. But he has since become used to working with them and has learned self-initiative from his German colleagues. “The Germans can also really roll up their sleeves and get to work,” he says appreciatively.

Setting priorities

Having grown up in the country, Cui – a bachelor – now lives in Shanghai and is
saving to buy his own apartment. The ambitious engineer doesn’t allow himself
much time to relax. “For a man, I think work should be the most important thing.”
Only Sundays are just for him. He often meets up with friends at a restaurant serving specialties from North China. They remind Cui of his happy time as a student in Harbin.
